Customer Spotlight: Over Yonder Brewing Company

A labor – and label – of love

Doing what you love seems to be a common thread among Columbine Label customers.

Take for instance, Over Yonder Brewing Company, a craft brewhouse located in Southwest Golden, CO near Red Rocks Amphitheater. For owner, Jason Bilodeaux, it’s a true labor of love borne out of what he describes as “many years of indulging in what the craft beer scene had to offer.”  Jason took up the art of home brewing and he says, “It became a passion and an obsession to learn all aspects of brewing and tasting beer.”

That passion came to full fruition in May 2019 as a spacious taproom featuring a rotating lineup of craft beers, ranging from New England and West Coast IPAs to seasonal brews. The venture is a family affair that includes wife Jessica, Over Yonder Brewing Co.’s controller and co-founder, and sister Ashleigh who serves as the brewery’s head of marketing and sales. Corey Yauch rounds out the Over Yonder crew as taproom manager.

A brewer with a printer’s eye

In the beverage industry, the label is often a product’s best sales tool. With 14 years in the printing business, Jason knows first-hand that eye-catching designs require quality printed labels. So when it came time to select a printer for his lineup of 16-ounce cans, Jason did his homework.

“We heard about Columbine Label through word of mouth. They came highly recommended by the bottler who handles our 32-ounce growlers,” explains Jason. “We reached out to Columbine and they came back with competitive pricing and turnaround time on label orders in a week, which we really needed as a startup, so it was not a hard decision to go with them.”

But it was the quality print results that really had him sold. “The quality of their printing is outstanding,” says Jason. “We get consistency throughout every label and don’t see any flaws.” That’s high praise coming from a former print professional.

Going above and be-yonder

Recently, Jason has also experienced first-hand a level of customer service from Columbine that shows a company’s true character. During the COVID-19 restrictions in the spring of this year, Over Yonder Brewing pivoted to online sales and beer-to-go to keep customers sufficiently quenched while the taproom was closed. When they received a fresh order of labels that wasn’t quite right, Jason was impressed by Columbine’s response. “Within a few hours, they ran the labels again and even met me in person to hand-deliver the labels. Going above and beyond like that was a big plus for us,” he says. To Jason, the quick response and extra steps taken demonstrated Columbine Label’s understanding of the stress their customers have been in during the virus shutdown. “Doing whatever it takes to help us continue to meet customer demand and generate revenue really says a lot about who they are.”
